The Benefits of Wood Stain
Wood stain is an excellent choice for protecting natural wood surfaces from Colorado’s 300+ days of sunshine. It also protects your wood structures from harsh weather conditions like snow, rain and hail. Wood stain can:
Create a barrier that protects wood from moisture, rot and mildew.
Wood is a naturally porous material that is vulnerable to damage caused by moisture like rain, snow or standing water. This is especially damaging, in Colorado, where wood can undergo freezing snow and blazing heat sometimes on the same day. Stain creates a barrier between the wood and these harmful elements without obscuring the beautiful and unique grain patterns that make wood such a desirable building material.
Protect wood from harsh UV rays that dry out wood and make it prone to dry rot, chipping and splintering.
Colorado is very proud of its reputation for sunny days but the wood structures that must endure perpetual UV rays are not nearly as excited. Wood stain offers UV protection that prevents wood from drying out and decaying. Not only that, it protects itself from fading, keeping your stain looking fresh and new far longer than bare wood.
Create a beautiful look that complements your home.
Professionally stained wood structures bring a beautiful, natural look to your home’s indoor and outdoor spaces. A well-stained deck can add thousands of dollars of value to your home, as does well-maintained fencing, trim, doors or any other stainable structure. Wood elements are highly desirable to potential buyers.
Give Your Natural Wood Surfaces a Fresh, New Look

Deck Staining Services
It’s no surprise that deck staining services are in high demand in Colorado. Our arid climate and frequent sunshine cause fading and damage to natural wood, turning an untreated deck into a minefield of splinters, cracking and weathering. A fresh coat of stain doesn’t just look great. It protects your wood surfaces from damage. A schedule of maintenance with power washing and professionally restaining the deck every few years will also help preserve your natural wood.

Wood Cabinet Staining Service
Let AMC Painting transform your kitchen, bathroom, bar or any other natural wood cabinetry with our wood cabinet staining service. High-quality stain looks amazing and protects your cabinets from spills, fingerprints, cooking oil and all the wear and tear that occurs in the busiest room in the house. If you would like to refresh your cabinets but are unsure about staining, you can also contact AMC Painting to learn more about our cabinet painting services.

Door and Trim Stain
Wood fencing is prone to damage and rot when exposed to sun, rain, snow and long periods of drought. Proper staining your wood fence can preserve it and make it last far longer than natural wood alone. Even pressure-treated wood can benefit from the protective properties of high-quality wood stain. If you have a new fence that you want to last for years or an existing fence you’d like to stain or re-stain, AMC Painting’s home wood staining services can help you accomplish your vision.

Our Wood Staining Process for Decks and Fences

AMC Painting will advise you of any items in your yard that may need to be moved during the staining process. Our team can help with moving some heavier items if you are unable to do so before your appointment.

A clean surface provides the ideal bond for your new stain and prevents issues with uneven application. Our team will professionally power wash your deck or fence to remove dirt, debris or old stain that is chipping away. In the case of re-staining projects, power washing will also remove old stains safely, without sanding. The surface will be allowed to dry before Step Three is completed.

Depending on the type of stain selected, our team will apply one to two coats to your deck or fence.

After your initial coat(s) of stain has been applied, we will apply any necessary touch-ups to your deck or fence. This is a normal step in the process, as different pieces of wood may absorb color differently, no matter how the stain is applied.

Your site manager will do a walkthrough of your project to ensure you are satisfied with the final results. We accept payment on your proposal only after the job is completed.

Our technicians will clean up the site and leave it looking like we were never there. The only evidence left behind will be your like-new deck or fence.

Tips and Reminders for Preparing Your Site for Wood Staining
When it comes to staining projects, AMC Painting will handle the majority of the work. However, there are a few steps you can take beforehand to streamline the process and minimize the disruption to your home.
Our AMC Painting team can help you with heavier objects. Your estimator will make a note of any items that need assistance. They will also inform you of items that may require a professional, such as large planters or outdoor kitchen set-ups.
AMC Painting is not responsible for obtaining permission to stain shared decking or fencing.
We love dogs, cats and every other friend you might have roaming the yard. We even bring our dogs to the office. However, it is best to keep them secured for their safety and to avoid mishaps like pawprints on a freshly stained deck.
